WHAT IS MEDIATION AND WHEN SHOULD I CHOSE TO DO IT IN MY DEFENSE BASE ACT (DBA) OR LONGSHORE & HARBOR WORKERS’ COMPENSATION ACT (LHWCA) CASE?

Video Transcription:

Mediation is a informal meeting between the parties. There is typically a third-party, unbiased mediator, who attempts to get the parties to reach a conclusion, or at least get closer than what they were previously. It's typically a good thing to do in a Defense Base Act case or a longshore case, when the parties are very far apart in negotiations or when talks simply break down between the parties.
