ONCE I HAVE SELECTED MY CHOICE OF PHYSICIAN, ARE THERE ANY WAYS TO EVER CHANGE DOCTORS?

Video Transcription:

Under the Longshore and Defense Base Acts, once you've selected your choice of physician, especially if you've signed a Choice of Physician form, it is typically very difficult to ever change physicians. However, for good cause shown, you can appeal to the district director and request a change of physician.

For example, if you move or if a doctor voluntarily terminates care, you may be able to show good cause and have the district director order the insurance company to provide you with a change of physician.
